From an early stage at Philips Electronics, Hugo has been actively involved the technological revolution from conventional lighting to digital lighting, Solid State Lighting within Philips Electronics. His primary involvement and contribution is operations and marketing and has lot of professional knowledge on how the Lighting industry is changing and what the impacts that both opportunities as well challenges may create for this industry.

SH Hong joined Phlips in 2003 as an Account Manager handling Samsung & LG in the TV industry, and in 2009, he became in charge of LED module & Driver portfolio for APR countries.

Born in Seoul, Korea, Hong received his bachelor’s degree in in Mechanical engineering before he moved on and received two master’s degrees in Aerospace/Mechanical & Material Science at Cornell University in USA.  During his graduate student years at Cornell, he obtained intensive experience in Nano Fab.
